My art delves into the relationships between drawing and textiles, and I like to experiment with scale through my sculptural hollow drawings. I blend elements from art, natural sciences, and philosophy to reflect how our physical and spiritual connections to nature shape our perceptions. Research is an important part of my practice; I explore scientific and cultural collections in museums and galleries to create my art.
I work on various scales, from intricate small-scale details to large-scale textile sculptures. My current focus involves scaling up the aesthetics of embroidery and line into expansive forms, transforming these details into dynamic, tactile artworks. I view my practice as a form of drawing in space, where each piece invites reflection on our interaction with the natural world.
I see co-creation and education as integral to my diverse art practice, working in partnership with national and local organisations and communities to research and develop education programs and workshops in parallel with my art.
